STUDENT PARTICIPATION IN INNOVATION CHALLENGES:
The innovation cell of our institution works with the purpose of foster the culture of innovation among the students systematically. The Cell trains, notifies, inspires and encourages the students to participate in innovative events. The cell provides necessary support for students with guidance under qualified resource person in the respective field, and also provides financial support.

Internsala - "Internsala Trainings Innovate Challenge:"
Student particiated in “Internsala Trainings Innovate Challenge” on 21.12.2018 Six students registered to participate in the Challenge and completed the project under the guidance of an expert, Mr. Christo Eljin Raj, Dept of ECE, St Xaviers Catholic College of Engineering, Chunkankadai.

Ninja Challenge - Internsala:
The students participated in Ninja Challenge - Internsala aims to learn digital marketing in on march 2019.

Intellectual Property Right Cell:
The IPR Cell organises programmes for faculty and students in Intellectual Property Right, filing the patents through its activities. The cell provides a portal for all intellectual property right offers legal support and protects against any malpractice. A “Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights and Innovations” was conducted on 19.05.2018 by the Cell, Dr. Kantha Babu, Director, Centre for Intellectual Property Rights, Anna University, Chennai as the resource person on Overview on IPR, the method of converting project into patent, demo on how to do patent search and practical session.

Ph.D Departments:
The college has recognized 5 research departments for conducting research guiding to award of Ph.D and the departments are:

Information and Communications Technology (ICT):
SKHMC take up ICT enabled teaching learning methodology to go hand in hand with the recent advance technology in concerned field. The students are given an opportunity to access the latest information related to medical field which help them to improve their knowledge and skills in Information communication Technology. For integrating the emerging technology and digital resources with the Homoeopathic education and research, SKHMC has initiated a separate wing namely ICT cell. The cell entirely focuses on the feasibility of emerging technology to the students for their teaching learning, by offering simulated learning environment and skill enhancement training using ICT. The cell also initiate innovative measures like online examinations on experimental basis and implemented the internal assessment through software packages .The cell provides digital repository and accessibility of OPAC through LAN to the students.

ICT enabled teaching learning measures are adapted for both Under Graduate and Post Graduate level. We have created a good ICT ambiance by maintaining ICT enabled class rooms with smart boards, internet connection and a good provision of audiovisual system. The students are expertised in the skills of using latest technologies for innovative research activities , stimulation techniques, through OPAC, D space –content management system, Repository and open softwares .

Softwares like ‘Hompath-ZOMEO’ LAN version, ‘RADAR’(10) LAN version, ‘COMPLETE DYNAMICS’, ‘Hompath ice breaker’, ‘ISIS’ version with complete classics, and ‘MERCURIUS’ are also provided in the institution .

Institutional Ethical Committee (I.E.C)
An I.E.C. was formed in the college on 16th September 2014 in conformity with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Guidelines for upholding ethical principle in the research activities. It has been registered by the Drugs controller General (India), Central Drugs Standard control organization under Rules 122 D.D. vide Registration No.ECR/939/Inst/TN/2017 to be effective from 11.05.2017.

Herbal Garden:
The natural landscape of Sarada Krishna Homoeopathic Medical College situated in Kanniyakumari district is an ideal place for gardening. We are maintaining the herbal garden with the infrastructure facilities including green house, sprinkler system for irrigation and grass trimmer. The total plinth area of the herbal garden is 4048.6 sq.m. About 40 and 176 wide variety of medicinal plants are planted in the green house and herbal garden respectively. Herbal garden is established for the purpose of education and research. Students are exposed to common and genuine plant species which gives comprehensive knowledge of identification of various medicinal plants and its therapeutic uses. Availability of pharmacognosy lab in the college campus is another significant facility provided for identification of the phytochemical constituents and evaluation of quality of Homoeopathic drugs. Awareness is created among the students regarding the importance of preserving the indigenous herb species. Rare species of herbs can be saved from extinction. Cultivate and develop medicinal plants of good quality. Identifying the genuine drug which helps to avoid misidentification of plants

NABH Accredited 100 Beded Hospital:
The college is attached to 100 bedded NABH Accredited hospital. The college attained NABH certification for the clinical laboratory on April 24th 2017 and NABH accreditation for the Hospital on January 8th 2018 from the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers under the Quality Council of India.

The hospital is located in accessible area of the town, with adequate vehicle facilities. The hospital management oversees basic standards of the hospital such as adequate supply of safe water, basic hygiene and sanitation in the OPD, IPD and environment, adequate management of health-care waste, and adequate ventilation. The hospital also provide awareness programmes to the patients and by-standers and regularly conduct extension activities at school and community level to promote safe environment and thereby contribute welfare of the society. The hospital also conducts camps for supplying preventive medicines during epidemics. The hospital conducts regular camps with in the premises and also outside the campus throughout the year.

The entire administration of the hospital such as the functioning of OPDs, IPD, Diagnostic facilities, Dispensary etc. along with the Peripheral Health Centres (PHCs), is controlled and supervised by Dr. N.V.Sugathan, Medical Superintendent under the governance of Dr.C.K.Mohan, Chairman. Medical Superintendent is in charge of duties of Hospital Staff, clinical postings of Medical Officers, UG & PG students, Internees in the Hospital, PHCs and Tie-up Hospitals and all other NABH related activities.. It is he who organises medical and preventive camps etc. based on the requirement of the community.

Library with 10000 + Books:
We have provided a well furnished and arranged library with a wide collection of books, journals, dissertation, projects, CDs and e-book collection. The library functions routinely from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm and on weekend it functions up to 1:00 pm .

Pharmacognosy Lab:
Department of Pharmacy initiates Pharmacognosy Lab as an innovative measure to enhance the research skills among the students. The lab provides esteemed provision for the students regarding the identification of natural source of drugs and provides adequate facilities for morphological and microscopical studies of cells and tissues in different parts of plants. The identification and standardization of crude drugs are also take part in the lab. This lab also provide opportunities for the students to gain the knowledge of physicochemical properties of the natural products and natural medications.

Central Research Lab:
The Central Research Lab have been established in our institution with an intention of providing all necessary provisions for the students to carrying out research projects in at most congenial manner. As the infrastructure is provided within their comfort zone, the students can minimize their effort, time, expenditure, money and can readily get access to their Guides for immediate reference. It is equipped with modernized equipments and facilitated with separate reagent room, inoculation room & sterilization room.
